Region Östergötland's new research prize for young researchers in 2023 goes to Daniel Wilhelms, docent and senior physician in emergency care at the University Hospital in Linköping.

Daniel Wilhelms receives the prize for his research efforts in emergency healthcare, which have potentially great benefit for the more than two million patients who seek an emergency department in Sweden every year. It is the first time that the prize has been awarded.

Region Östergötland's research award for young researchers consists of a research grant to the awardee of SEK 1 million per year for three years and a personal award of SEK 100,000.
