Norrköping is first in Sweden to guarantee newly graduated students housing after their degree. Bostadslöftet (Housing promise) has been launched to make it easier for newly graduated students from Campus Norrköping to stay, work and live in Norrköping.

Via Bostadslöftet’s portal , the landlords guarantee that all students who have graduated from Campus Norrköping will be given priority for first-hand contracts, where you rent directly from the landlord, for vacant apartments.

“Students are applying to the attractive programmes at Campus Norrköping from all over Sweden. We already, with StudentBo, offer a housing guarantee for students when they apply to Campus Norrköping and we are proud that we can now, in collaboration with Norrköping’s biggest landlords, offer the same opportunity for students with a degree to stay in Norrköping after their studies”, says Martin Rantzer, campus manager at LiU.

For many students, the housing shortage has been a barrier to them staying and establishing themselves in Norrköping after graduation. Through Bostadslöftet, it is hoped that the stress and uncertainty associated with applying for housing will be reduced, thus enhancing Norrköping as a student city and as a place where students are welcomed to live and work even after their studies.

The landlords involved in the collaboration are Hyresbostäder, Lundbergs Fastigheter, Magnentus and Rikshem.

“We look forward to having a positive impact on our society and the future of the city,” says David Nilsson, CEO of NKPG City, an organisation to promote cooperation and development in Norrköping.
