Researchers at The Department of Electrical Engineering (ISY) has been awarded two Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships. The grants are part of the EU’s research programme Horizon Europe and fund postdoctoral research in international competition.

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA PF) aim to support researchers’ career development through international mobility and high-quality research. The programme is part of the Excellent Science pillar within Horizon Europe.

At ISY, two projects have been granted funding in the 2025 call, with results announced in February 2026.

Energy-efficient 6G technology with integrated sensing

The project ECO-ISAC, led by Erik G. Larsson at the Division of Communication Systems, focuses on developing energy- and cost-efficient 6G technology. The project combines communication and sensing, enabling systems that both transmit data and gather information about their surroundings.

The aim is to contribute to future wireless networks with improved resource efficiency. In addition to the EU grant, the project receives co-funding from Linköping University as well as from Vinnova within a 6G initiative.

Secure and intelligent Vehicle-to-Grid technology

The second project, TRUST-V2G, is led by Yang Liu at the Division of Vehicular Systems. The project develops an AI-based framework for so-called Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G), where electric vehicles interact with the power grid.

The focus is on cybersecurity and robustness in energy systems, particularly as the share of renewable energy increases. The project aims to contribute to a stable and secure integration between electric vehicles and the power grid.

Funding and implementation

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships are standardised grants based on unit costs, meaning that funding levels are similar across awarded projects. The projects run for two years and are complemented by co-funding from the host institution. At Linköping University, additional central funding is also provided.
