AI4X Center of Excellence (LiU-CoE)

AI4X is a long-term investment in artificial intelligence research at ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ.

AI4X is one of Linköping University’s Centers of Excellence. The center is led by Professor Fredrik Heintz and is based in the divisions Artificial Intelligence and Integrated Computer Systems (AIICS), Computer Vision and Learning Systems (CVL), Media and Information Technology (MIT), and Statistics and Machine Learning (STIMA).

AI4X brings together research and education in artificial intelligence, its theoretical foundations and its applications. The environment is built on a broad research base and includes several research laboratories in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine reasoning, natural language processing, reasoning and learning, and theoretical computer science.

As a Center of Excellence, AI4X is a long-term investment designed to strengthen quality, development and collaboration in a research field where Linköping University already has a strong position. The initiative is intended to create better conditions for new collaborations, greater scientific risk-taking and international impact.

AI4X is also part of a broader AI landscape at Linköping University. LiU has a wide range of AI-related activities across research, education and collaboration, and the university describes itself as a leading institution in Sweden in AI research. For AI4X, this creates strong opportunities to develop collaborations both within the university and with national and international partners.

Through AI4X, expertise, research leadership and long-term resources are brought together in an environment intended to contribute new knowledge, scientific renewal and greater visibility for Linköping University’s AI research.
