LEAD-IN: Leadership for Diversity and Inclusion (MOOC)
Learn how diversity and inclusion are not just a supplement to HRM, but a strategic driver of innovation within organizations. Students become prepared to lead multicultural, multigenerational teams, recognize and mitigate their biases, and design a work environment where diverse perspectives are effectively leveraged in decision-making.
The course introduces practical aspects: from recruitment, through daily collaboration, to the ethical implementation of digital tools and AI. Creativity, empathy, and the ability to bridge diverse perspectives are crucial for leaders implementing innovations in Industry 5.0.
LEAD-IN isn't just another e-learning course with static presentations to click through. The entire LEAD-IN framework is built on mechanisms from Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and ABC learning design. Students learn through listening, watching, doing, discussing, collaborating, and creating their own solutions.

Who can take the course?
This course is designed for bachelor and master students regardless of their major, who would like to learn the essentials of leadership within the human-oriented perspective of Industry 5.0 and get the hands-on experience with real socially sustainable innovation challenges.ÌýNo prior knoweledge on leadership or management is required.
Course structure
Navigate through the 5 core sessions, following the sequential flow designed to build your expertise. You will interact with a variety of research-driven activities, including:
- Theoretical Frameworks: Foundational knowledge on diversity and inclusion.
- Collaborative Forums: Peer-to-peer discussions on inclusive leadership and ethical practices.
- Interactive Canvases: Online workshop tools for ensuraing psychologicaly safe working environment.
- Applied Learning: Real-world case studies and behavioral decision games.
Certificate
The certificate of completion is automatically issued once you meet the following dual criteria:
- Progress: Completion of at least 80% of all course materials and activities.
- Assessment: A minimum score of 50% on the comprehensive final online test.
Offline sessions
There is an offline session planned at LiU in December 2026. If you are a LiU students and enroll with this online course, you can then join the offline session.
